Great little knife for the price. Good fit and finish. Solid lock and good ergonomics for the size. The lanyard hole would allow it to be a four finger grip with some paracord. Nice blue color also. Worth every penny I would say.
It came dull but that is an easy fix. It also had blade play. But that is also fixable.

Rough rider reserve is supposed to be the higher end Rough riders.... This piece had worse fit and finish than a regular Rough rider. Cracks in the bone scales and gapping between the back springs.
Nice sheath for the money. Works fine with the Dexter russell green river sheath knife.

Ein Barlow mit nur einer Klinge gefällt mir ohnehin schon sehr gut. Durch die Griffschalen aus imitiertem Schildpatt wird es optisch nochmals aufgewertet. Das Messer kommt in der gewohnten Qualität von Rough Ryder, also verdient es fünf Sterne und die Kaufempfehlung.

Well made knife, with a beautiful and functional handle. Holds an edge fairly well, too. The sheath is basic but does its job.
A bit heavy due to the abundance of material it's made of, but for this very reason it's sturdy, suitable even for heavy-duty work. It's not very well finished, but it's a knife to be used, not kept on display. You can find similar knives with much better finishing, but they cost much more.

It was already a great knife in 1917. Today, it remains one of the best knives for surviving in a war situation. Currently, given the situation in the world, that is a reassuring thought.
